Auto Electrical Technician – Mining Equipment

About the role

K92 Mining Limited is seeking an Auto Electrical Technician to maintain and repair the electrical systems of its extensive fleet of mining equipment. The role is based at the Kainantu Gold Mine camp and involves both breakdown and preventative maintenance on a variety of mobile machines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment such as Sandvik drills, trucks, loaders, as well as ancillary CAT and Normet machines.
• Conduct regular electrical tests, tagging, and inspections on all equipment.
• Direct and train junior staff in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring and components.
• Ensure all work complies with government safety regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Hold a NATTB‑certified trade certificate in Auto‑Electrical.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in heavy‑industry electrical maintenance, preferably in a mining environment.
• Experience maintaining electrical systems on drills, trucks, loaders, light vehicles, dozers, excavators, and graders.
• Familiarity with automotive air‑conditioning systems is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously with a strong safety focus.
