Community Facilitator

About the role
The Community Facilitator will work directly with villages and local groups to mobilise community members, deliver training, and ensure inclusive participation in project activities. This role supports vulnerable children and families by fostering safe, collaborative environments and linking households to essential services.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and facilitate village‑level meetings, focus groups and participatory planning sessions.
- Build trusted relationships with community leaders, women’s groups, youth, people with disabilities, farmer groups and savings groups.
- Deliver or co‑facilitate training on financial literacy, savings, inclusive livelihoods, gender inclusion, nutrition and basic household practices.
- Coach and supervise community volunteers and lead facilitators to sustain learning cycles.
- Implement gender, disability inclusion and child safeguarding standards across all activities.
- Maintain feedback, complaints and response mechanisms at the community level.
- Coordinate with local authorities, church networks and civil‑society actors to avoid duplication and align efforts.
- Collect attendance, activity and outcome data, including sex‑ and disability‑disaggregated information.
- Prepare weekly/monthly field reports, success stories and case studies for adaptive management.
- Plan field schedules, manage session materials and coordinate transport while adhering to organisational policies.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification (certificate, diploma or degree) in Community Development, Social Work, Public Policy, Education, Agriculture/Livelihoods or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and facilitating community‑based activities.
- Strong understanding of gender, disability inclusion and child safeguarding principles.
- Ability to collect and report data accurately and maintain confidentiality.
