Digital Reporter

About the role

The Digital Reporter will join the TVWAN Department, reporting to the Head of News. You will be responsible for creating accurate, timely news content for daily programs, the website, and social media platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Source news, photos, videos and audio for daily online publication.
• Research, write and submit news stories quickly for the website and social channels.
• Organise and conduct interviews to gather information.
• Attend events and press conferences to capture news.
• Record and deliver live or pre‑recorded news reports.
• Ensure all content meets editorial, ethical and quality standards.
• Liaise with editors, producers and news crews during production.
• Monitor daily developments and emerging issues.
• Use social platforms to engage audiences and grow follow‑up.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in news reporting, broadcasting or media.
• Proven work as a journalist or reporter.
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics and PNG current affairs.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in digital news writing, interviewing and field reporting.
• Ability to multitask, work collaboratively and build professional relationships.
