Project Officer – Western Province Partnership (APSP)

About the role

The Project Officer will oversee and administer funding grants for the Western Province Partnership (WPP) under the Australia‑Papua New Guinea Subnational Program (APSP). Based in Daru, the role supports the delivery of gender‑centred community and economic initiatives from September 2026 until February 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full grant cycle for the Community Grants Scheme (CGS) or Economic Initiatives Program (EIP), from application review to final reporting.
• Coordinate with subnational advisers and provincial authorities to ensure alignment with WPP outcomes.
• Monitor grant performance, financial disbursements and compliance with DFAT guidelines.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities for local partners to strengthen grant management and implementation.
• Provide regular updates and analysis to the APSP central team.

Required profile

• PNG citizenship (open to PNG citizens only).
• Experience in grant administration, project coordination or development assistance.
• Ability to work onsite in Daru and travel within Western Province as needed.
• Understanding of gender‑centred program delivery is advantageous.
