Receptionist

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for visitors, families and staff at Lae International School. This full‑time, on‑site position requires a professional, welcoming presence and the ability to manage a busy front desk while supporting the school’s administrative team.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, answer and direct phone calls, and respond to general inquiries.
• Manage the front desk, coordinate visitor sign‑in procedures and keep the reception area organized.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, handling mail, scheduling appointments and supporting administrative staff with basic office duties.
• Work closely with school leadership to ensure clear communication and efficient front‑office operations.

Required profile

• Strong front‑desk and receptionist experience, including visitor interaction.
• Excellent phone etiquette and courteous communication.
• Proficient clerical abilities – basic computer use, filing, record‑keeping and handling correspondence.
• Attention to detail, reliability and strong organisational skills.
• Prior experience in an educational setting is an advantage.
• Relevant secondary education; additional office‑administration or customer‑service training is beneficial.
