Registered Nurse – FIFO Mining Health Services

About the role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Safety, Health, Security & Risk – Medical Department on a FIFO basis at the Hidden Valley Mine Site. Reporting to the Senior Nurse, you will deliver professional, confidential nursing care to maximise employee well‑being and physical fitness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary health care, occupational health services and emergency response support to employees and contractors.
• Conduct clinical assessments, health surveillance activities and fitness‑for‑work medicals.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and medical documentation.
• Support emergency response, trauma management, triage and medical evacuations.
• Promote workforce health through education, preventative and public health initiatives.
• Manage pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, clinical equipment and inventory levels.
• Participate in community health and workplace wellbeing programmes.

Required profile

• Current registration and licence to practise as a Registered Nurse with the PNG Nursing Council.
• Minimum three years post‑registration clinical nursing experience.
• Fluent in Tok Pisin and English with strong communication skills.
• Experience in emergency response, triage and acute patient care.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong clinical assessment, patient management and medical record documentation skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience using electronic medical record systems.
• Experience with occupational health management systems.
