Scaffolding Supervisor – Mining Site

About the role

New Porgera Limited is seeking an experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to lead the erection, modification and dismantling of scaffolding structures at its plant site in the Porgera Valley, Papua New Guinea. The role is critical to ensuring safe and efficient scaffold operations in a world‑class mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the erection, modification and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
• Ensure all scaffolding activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, promptly addressing any defects.
• Lead, train and develop a team of scaffolders, fostering best practices.
• Maintain scaffolding equipment through inspections, repairs and inventory management.
• Coordinate with operating departments to ensure seamless project execution.
• Plan and execute tasks using available resources to optimise cost and efficiency.
• Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture.

Required profile

• Advanced Scaffolding ticket from a recognised institution.
• 7‑10 years of hands‑on scaffolding experience in erection, modification and dismantling.
• Dual tickets in Rigging/Scaffolding (highly desirable).
• Proven leadership and personnel management skills.
• Strong self‑motivation with excellent communication, technical and planning abilities.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Must pass pre‑employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and provide a recent police clearance.
• Immediate availability; female candidates strongly encouraged.
