About the role
The Senior Marine Manager will lead Wildlife Conservation Society’s marine programme in Papua New Guinea from the new Port Moresby office. Reporting to the Conservation Director, the role oversees programme delivery across multiple regional offices and ensures alignment with WCS’s conservation mission.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the Marine Programme Manager (Administration) and regional programme managers in Kimbe, New Ireland, Manus, as well as the Shark and Ray Advisor.
- Coordinate with internal teams including Finance, Operations, Legal, Communications, and Marine staff.
- Travel regularly (20‑25%) between PNG programme offices and partner project sites, with possible overseas travel.
- Implement and monitor marine conservation actions across PNG’s seascapes.
- Provide strategic input to the Conservation Director and contribute to programme planning.
Required profile
- Full‑time commitment based in Port Moresby.
- Ability to report to the Conservation Director and supervise multiple managers.
- Willingness to travel regularly within PNG and occasionally overseas.
