Construction Planner

About the role

Wood is seeking a Construction Planner to join its Project Controls team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, you will develop and maintain detailed project plans across engineering, procurement, construction, hook‑up and commissioning phases, ensuring alignment with client milestones and internal reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall project plans and schedules, covering all phases of oil and gas projects.
• Produce and issue fully logic‑linked schedule updates, enabling performance analysis.
• Update project manpower requirements and assess impacts of client milestones.
• Monitor progress against major milestones and communicate status to Wood Project Management and the client.
• Collaborate with other planners to deliver an effective planning service.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a planner, preferably in oil & gas or construction.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
• Engineering degree or relevant onsite experience is highly considered.
• Full work rights in Papua New Guinea.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 (project scheduling software).
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
