Editor – News & Production (TV)

About the role

The Editor (News & Production) will transform raw video footage into clear, accurate, and engaging news stories for television and digital platforms. Reporting to the Team Leader Post‑Production, the role supports the newsroom by ensuring visual content meets editorial standards, broadcast requirements, and tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Edit daily news stories, packages, and special reports for TV broadcasts and digital platforms.
• Assemble raw footage, interviews, voice‑overs and sound bites into coherent news stories.
• Perform basic colour correction and audio adjustments to maintain broadcast quality.
• Meet strict newsroom deadlines and update content quickly during breaking news or live broadcasts.
• Conduct quality‑control checks to ensure technical accuracy before airing or publishing.
• Provide creative input to improve visual quality and impact of news stories.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Communications or related field.
• 2–3 years of video‑editing experience in a television newsroom, broadcast or media production environment.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced newsroom and support breaking‑news coverage.
• Strong collaboration and organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments.
