Food and Beverage Manager

About the role

The Food and Beverage Manager will lead all food and beverage operations at Airways Hotel & Residences in Port Moresby. This full‑time, on‑site position oversees restaurants, bars, lounges and event catering, ensuring exceptional service, product quality and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus in collaboration with culinary leadership and monitor daily service delivery.
• Manage inventory, supplier relationships and ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Lead, train, schedule and develop food and beverage staff, supporting performance management.
• Control budgets, monitor costs, conduct basic financial analysis and drive revenue optimisation.
• Handle guest feedback, collaborate with other departments and support special events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food service and beverage management, preferably in hotels, resorts or upscale dining.
• Strong customer‑service focus with the ability to manage guest feedback effectively.
• Experience in staff training, onboarding and performance coaching for diverse teams.
• Competence in budgeting, cost control and basic financial analysis for F&B operations.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and local regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
