Forestry, Climate Change & Biodiversity Expert (Non-Key)

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Non-Key Expert to provide technical assistance for EU‑funded programmes in Papua New Guinea and the wider Pacific region. The expert will support sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and climate‑change mitigation and adaptation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical assistance to the EU Delegation for programming, implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation of development cooperation operations.
• Support coordination and dialogue with partner‑country institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Provide expertise on sustainable forest and natural resources management, forest restoration, and ecosystem‑based approaches.
• Contribute to climate‑change adaptation, mitigation, and nature‑based solutions projects.
• Prepare high‑quality reports, policy briefs and technical documents.

Required profile

• University degree (preferably postgraduate) in forestry, environmental sciences, biodiversity, climate change or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in developing‑country contexts, preferably in Papua New Guinea or the Pacific.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally and to remote areas as required.
