HEP Impact Stories Advisor

About the role

The HEP Impact Stories Advisor will work on the Australia Awards PNG programme to capture and showcase the transformative impact of higher‑education partnerships across Papua New Guinea. This short‑term advisory position involves up to 50 input days of field‑based research, interviews and content creation, ending on 30 June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, document and package compelling stories that illustrate programme outcomes.
• Conduct interviews, stakeholder consultations and on‑site field research throughout PNG.
• Produce written and multimedia content for communications, reporting and public‑diplomacy purposes.
• Build and maintain relationships with participants, alumni, universities and other key partners.
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning activities through impact storytelling.
• Collaborate with Australia Awards PNG teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Promote inclusive storytelling that reflects diverse experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, journalism, public relations or a related development field.
• Demonstrated ability to turn complex information into engaging narratives.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse cultural groups.
• Residency in Papua New Guinea (PNG nationals only).
