Law and Justice Leadership Advisor

About the role

The Law and Justice Leadership Advisor will design, implement and continuously improve leadership development initiatives for Papua New Guinea’s law and justice sector. Working within DT Global Asia Pacific’s APLJ programme, the advisor will align activities with the PNG Law and Justice Policy 2025‑2035 and support both pre‑service and in‑service capacity building.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage leadership development strategies, frameworks and learning programmes for the law and justice sector.
• Coordinate pre‑service and in‑service leadership initiatives, ensuring alignment with sector priorities and policy.
• Provide practical advice and support on legal and policy issues, analysing complex challenges and recommending solutions.
• Facilitate knowledge management, mentorship and capacity‑building activities for senior leaders.
• Contribute to sector coordination, monitoring and evaluation of leadership outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, delivering and evaluating leadership development programmes in complex development contexts, preferably in the Pacific.
• Relevant background in law, governance, public policy, public administration or international development.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret legal and policy processes and offer actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated capacity‑building and knowledge‑management experience, including mentorship of senior officials.
