Medical Claims Officer

About the role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims team at Marsh Papua New Guinea. As a Medical Claims Officer, you will support the administration and coordination of medical and health‑related insurance claims for Marsh clients.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register and acknowledge medical claims notifications promptly.
• Review claim submissions for completeness, accuracy and policy alignment.
• Obtain and organise supporting documentation such as medical reports, invoices and discharge summaries.
• Submit claims and supporting information to insurers within required timeframes.
• Monitor outstanding claims, follow up on progress and support timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate claims records and prepare status reports and management information.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, providers and internal teams to resolve queries and manage expectations.
• Escalate complex, disputed or high‑value claims to the Claims Manager as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in insurance, business administration, finance, health administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in claims administration, health insurance or employee benefits.
• Strong administrative and record‑keeping abilities.
• Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and handle confidential information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
