Operations Manager – Holiday Inn & Suites Port Moresby

About the role

The Operations Manager will support the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily operations of Holiday Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express in Port Moresby. This regional leadership position ensures high standards of guest service, operational efficiency, and commercial performance across both properties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational support to Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering and other departments.
• Monitor staffing levels, productivity, rosters and operational resources.
• Coach, mentor and support department heads and colleagues to achieve performance and development objectives.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control and management of operational expenses.
• Conduct regular operational inspections to ensure cleanliness, presentation, safety and service standards.
• Handle guest concerns and operational challenges professionally and ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, workplace health and safety, and support emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with Sales and Revenue teams to support occupancy, revenue and overall profitability.
• Support strategic initiatives, projects and other duties as required by the Hotel Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel operations, including management or senior supervisory roles.
• Previous experience as Front Office Manager or Rooms Division Manager.
• Experience in an international or branded hotel environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
