Provincial Facilitator – Law & Justice Projects

About the role

The Provincial Facilitator will support the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade‑funded APLJ programme in Papua New Guinea. Working under the APLJ Director Community Justice and sub‑national advisers, the role focuses on planning, coordinating and implementing law and justice projects at the provincial level.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain active engagement with provincial and district administrations and national law‑and‑justice agencies.
• Facilitate the involvement of local community groups, including women, children, persons with disabilities and vulnerable populations, in project activities.
• Support the execution of the three End‑of‑Program Outcomes: community safety and access to justice, service delivery, and sector leadership.
• Monitor project progress, report to the Strategic Program Governance Meeting and DFAT, and ensure compliance with programme guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of work plans, budgets and implementation schedules for sub‑national interventions.

Required profile

• PNG national with a relevant qualification and experience in community development, justice or public administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs and local stakeholders.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with a focus on inclusive service delivery.
