Senior Estimator – Port Moresby

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our construction operations in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The role involves preparing accurate bids, presenting tender proposals, and following up on tender outcomes to support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain positive relationships.
• Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates and conduct cost analysis.
• Develop construction practices, program schedules, and submission documentation for tenders.
• Deliver detailed tender packages and provide pre‑contract support.
• Use site productivity rates to develop realistic estimates.
• Identify information gaps and issue RFIs to ensure complete tender documentation.
• Review designs and engineering specifications for cost‑effectiveness.
• Validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction, or a related building qualification (or equivalent trade experience).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar estimating role within the construction industry.
• Construction Safety Induction (white) card.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to read construction drawings accurately.
• Strong presentation skills for internal and external meetings.
• Solid knowledge of tendering processes, building standards, estimating procedures, and the competitive market.
• Thorough understanding of the construction process and ability to assess construction risk.
