About the role
The Videographer will lead the planning, capture, editing and delivery of high‑quality visual content for the Australia PNG Subnational Program (APSP). This role provides in‑house capability to produce engaging video and photography that showcase program activities, stakeholder engagement and community impact across PNG.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, film and edit professional‑quality video content for APSP communications, including social‑media reels, short documentaries, interviews, event coverage and campaign material.
- Work closely with the APSP Communications Manager and program teams to identify story opportunities and develop filming plans that align with APSP priorities and messaging.
- Capture professional‑quality photographic content at activities, events, project sites and community locations in Port Moresby and other provinces.
- Ensure all visual output follows PNG–Australia Partnership branding, style and clearance requirements.
- Maintain an organised library of footage, photographs, audio files and final products for future use.
- Apply gender, disability, social‑inclusion, safeguarding and ethical storytelling principles in all production activities.
- Provide technical advice on visual storytelling, filming approaches, photography, audio quality and channel‑specific content suitability.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Communications Manager.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification in communications, journalism, film, media production, marketing or a related discipline (highly regarded).
- Minimum five years’ professional experience in filming, editing and producing video content, preferably for communications, development or social‑impact contexts.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and maintain orderly digital files.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑cultural team.
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, diversity and ethical content capture.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Papua New Guinea, including remote locations.
