Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Expert to provide technical assistance for EU‑funded programmes in Papua New Guinea and the wider Pacific region. The role will support the EU Delegation in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating sustainable, climate‑resilient WASH services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical assistance on water supply, sanitation, hygiene and water resources management.
• Support the EU Delegation with programme design, implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare WASH infrastructure projects, including climate‑resilient solutions.
• Facilitate coordination and dialogue with partner‑country institutions, utilities and other stakeholders.
• Provide capacity‑building and institutional strengthening for utilities and service providers.
• Monitor and evaluate WASH programmes and investments, reporting findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree (post‑graduate preferred) in water engineering, civil/environmental engineering, water resources management, public health or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in WASH sectors within developing countries.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to produce high‑quality reports.
• Proven ability to work independently and in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally and to remote areas as required.
