Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

The Assistant Tax Manager will support Shishya’s tax management function in Port Moresby, preparing and reviewing tax returns and related documentation for individuals and entities while assisting in tax planning and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns, schedules and supporting documentation for clients.
• Liaise with clients and tax authorities to ensure timely compliance.
• Maintain accurate tax records and prepare internal reports.
• Assist senior team members on complex tax matters and provide practical recommendations.
• Contribute to internal process improvements and tax planning activities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of tax planning and tax law applied to client situations.
• Experience in tax compliance and preparation of returns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field; CPA/CA certification advantageous.
• Prior experience in tax advisory, public accounting or corporate tax, preferably with multinational clients.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
