Associate Director, Financial Institutions

About the role

ANZ is seeking an Associate Director to lead its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) coverage in Papua New Guinea. You will be responsible for growing a high‑value portfolio of institutional clients, delivering sustainable revenue and supporting the development of the local financial system.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a FIG portfolio of 50+ clients, meeting revenue, return and share‑of‑wallet targets.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with banks, multilateral agencies, embassies and non‑bank financial institutions.
• Originate and execute multi‑product solutions across lending, transaction banking and markets.
• Translate ANZ Institutional and FIG strategies into local market initiatives that enhance financial system connectivity and liquidity.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, AML/CTF, sanctions and governance frameworks while maintaining portfolio quality.
• Act as the primary relationship owner for FIG clients, influencing senior stakeholders and driving aligned outcomes.
• Represent ANZ in industry forums, stakeholder engagements and thought‑leadership activities.
