Community Affairs Manager (Mining & Natural Resources)

About the role

The Community Affairs Manager will lead community engagement, stakeholder relations, landowner negotiations, and social performance programmes that support ongoing mining operations in Mave, Central Province. This role is critical for maintaining the company’s social licence to operate while ensuring safe and uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, clan leaders, local communities, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead community consultation programmes, stakeholder engagement activities, and awareness campaigns for current and future project phases.
• Manage land access negotiations, community agreements, and dispute‑resolution processes with culturally appropriate approaches.
• Oversee the community grievance management system, ensuring timely recording, investigation, resolution, and reporting of complaints.
• Monitor community sentiment, identify emerging social risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimise operational disruptions.
• Coordinate community development initiatives, local economic participation programmes, and other social investment projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a community affairs or stakeholder‑engagement leader within mining or natural‑resources operations.
• Extensive exposure to customary landowner engagement in remote environments.
• Ability to work closely with operations, security, government agencies, HR, and senior management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory obligations and community‑commitment compliance.
