Community Affairs Officer – Fixed Term (6 months)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Community Affairs Officer to support the Frieda River Drill Program on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. Reporting to the Senior Community Affairs Officer, you will work on‑site to engage local communities, manage grievances and help deliver community development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Engage regularly with local communities and key stakeholders to build trust and awareness.
• Facilitate community meetings, consultations and awareness activities.
• Communicate company updates and project information clearly and accurately.
• Act as the primary point of contact for community concerns, documenting and escalating issues.
• Receive, record and track community grievances, supporting investigation and resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of grievances, stakeholder interactions and engagement activities.
• Support the delivery and monitoring of community development programs.
• Conduct field visits to monitor activities and community impacts.
• Prepare engagement reports, activity summaries and recommendations.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, field activities, reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Communication for Development or a related field.
• Relevant experience in community engagement, stakeholder communication and grievance handling.
