Diamond Driller – Exploration & Mine Development

About the role

The Diamond Driller will support exploration, resource definition and mine development programmes in a remote mining environment in Mave, Central Province, Papua New Guinea. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of diamond drilling rigs to meet productivity targets while delivering high‑quality core samples for geological analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor diamond drill rigs safely to achieve planned drilling targets.
• Deliver high‑quality core recovery and ensure accurate core handling, sampling and presentation.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance and consumables management to maximise rig availability.
• Provide first‑line troubleshooting and support corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement safety controls in line with site procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with geologists, supervisors, maintenance teams and mining personnel to ensure efficient programme execution.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance drilling productivity and safety.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating diamond drilling equipment in remote or challenging mining environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental and operational standards.
• Ability to work independently under demanding field conditions while maintaining operational discipline.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with geologists, supervisors and maintenance staff.
