Diamond Drilling Supervisor (Mining & Natural Resources)

About the role

The Diamond Drilling Supervisor leads diamond drilling operations that support exploration, resource definition, and mine development programs in remote mining locations of Papua New Guinea. Working closely with geologists, engineers and maintenance teams, the supervisor ensures safe, efficient and high‑quality drilling outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor diamond drilling crews to achieve safety and productivity targets.
• Coordinate daily drilling activities, allocate manpower, manage equipment utilisation and maintain drilling schedules.
• Monitor drilling productivity, metreage, core recovery rates and ensure sample integrity.
• Enforce health, safety, environmental and operational procedures and promote a strong safety culture.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations as required.
• Track drill rig performance, consumables usage and maintenance needs to maximise equipment reliability.
• Plan and oversee preventative maintenance and support troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Prepare and submit operational reports covering productivity, equipment status and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising diamond drilling crews in underground or surface mining environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of drill rig operation, core recovery and drilling productivity metrics.
• Ability to work in remote, challenging conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
