District Project Officer – Southern Highlands

About the role

The District Project Officer will support World Vision Papua New Guinea in delivering the UNICEF HCD immunisation outreach programme in the Southern Highlands. Working closely with the Provincial Health Authority (PHA) and local outreach teams, the officer will help ensure zero‑dose children receive timely vaccinations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with PHA and District Outreach programme to roll‑out immunisation outreach to targeted households.
• Link Village Health Assistants (VHAs), Community Health Workers (CHWs), Ward Counsellors and community leaders to generate demand for immunisation.
• Collect, write and submit activity reports on schedule.
• Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders and update the Project Coordinator.
• Identify challenges, work with PHA to find solutions and support the HCD programme in the district.
• Work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, Finance, M&E officer and the Area Program Team.

Required profile

• Local applicant residing in Papua New Guinea.
• Experience working with health outreach or community‑based programmes.
• Strong reporting and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with government health authorities and community leaders.
