Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor

About the role

The successful candidate will supervise small‑to‑medium sized, multi‑skilled construction crews across multiple work assignments and locations. The role requires an excellent understanding of construction input into the project and engineering design, as well as the ability to implement Wood and client safety programs. This position operates on a 28/28‑day roster with a B2B support component.

Key responsibilities

• Support job planning for electrical activities in coordination with other disciplines.
• Provide daily reports on job progress and upcoming activities.
• Assist QA/QC with completions, including Inspection Test Records, MCC handovers, and electrical discipline documentation.
• Develop the team through evaluation, guidance, and mentoring of national electricians.
• Utilise client Work Management/Permit to Work systems where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of electrical experience in plant maintenance or construction within the oil and gas industry.
• Trained and certified to PNG/Australian standards for electrical craft.
• Experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment in hazardous areas (EEHA) – preferred.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults, including high‑voltage equipment (6.6 kV).
• Ability to interpret design drawings and commission switchgear, MCCs, circuit breakers, motors, lighting fixtures, and valve operators.
