Electrical Technician – Brewery Operations

About the role

SP Brewery is seeking two Electrical Technicians to join its supply‑chain engineering team in Port Moresby. Reporting to the Engineer Manager, you will ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all electrical systems that keep the brewery running.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on brewery electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults to minimise downtime and production interruptions.
• Install, maintain, repair and test motors, drives, switchgear, control panels and related components.
• Carry out routine inspections, identify defects and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Execute preventive maintenance according to schedules and standards.
• Support production teams with timely technical assistance and fault resolution.
• Participate in TPM, Kaizen and continuous‑improvement projects to boost OEE, MTTR and MTBF.
• Assist with electrical installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate work orders and technical documentation in the CMMS.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Electrical licence or eligibility to obtain one (advantageous).
• Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work shifts and respond to breakdowns as required.

Required skills

• Low‑voltage electrical systems and power distribution.
• Motor control circuits, variable speed drives (VSDs) and motor control centres (MCCs).
• Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Installation and maintenance of switchgear and control panels.
• Use of CMMS for maintenance records.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
