Group Accountant

About the role

CHM Group, a leading diversified company in Papua New Guinea, is seeking a Group Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting across its multiple divisions. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in consolidating financial results, supporting management reporting, and driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for all divisions.
• Support management reporting, variance analysis and budgeting activities.
• Coordinate external audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial systems.
• Manage inter‑company transactions, reconciliations and treasury functions including cash‑flow forecasting.
• Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Professional qualification (CPA PNG, CA, CPA Australia) or working towards it.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience with group or multi‑entity consolidation exposure.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and PNG accounting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and deadline orientation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Pronto, Dynamics 365 or SAP.
• Knowledge of IFRS and PNG accounting standards.
