HSEQ Manager – Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

About the role

The HSEQ Manager will lead the development and implementation of integrated Health, Safety, Environment, Community Relations and Quality systems for a fast‑growing heavy‑industry operation in Papua New Guinea. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role combines strategic vision with hands‑on execution to embed zero‑harm principles and sustainable practices across all sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and roll out an HSEQ management framework aligned with international best practices (ISO, ICMM) and local regulations.
• Lead workplace safety programmes, including risk assessments, hazard controls, incident investigations and compliance monitoring.
• Develop and maintain environmental compliance systems covering air, water, waste and site rehabilitation.
• Drive community engagement and social‑license initiatives, overseeing impact assessments and grievance mechanisms.
• Establish quality assurance (QA/QC) processes based on ISO standards to ensure operational excellence.
• Integrate digital HSEQ technologies and reporting tools to enhance data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in HSEQ leadership within mining, heavy construction or similar sectors.
• Strong knowledge of PNG regulatory frameworks and international standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and influence executive teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
