Hydraulic Hose Technician (Underground)

About the role

The Hydraulic Hose Technician assembles, crimps and tests hydraulic hose assemblies for underground mining equipment. The role ensures all hose assemblies meet OEM specifications and K92’s safety standards, supporting both production and construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, crimp and test low‑ and high‑pressure hydraulic hoses according to supplier or in‑house procedures.
• Identify and fit appropriate fittings to hoses based on OEM specifications.
• Operate hose assembly machinery safely and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work area.
• Follow all safety rules, environmental guidelines and supervisor instructions.
• Provide overtime support when required to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 school certificate.
• At least 3 years experience in a mining or heavy‑construction environment.
• Current PNG driver’s licence and First Aid certification.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and autonomously.

Required skills

• Hydraulic hose assembly and crimping.
• High‑pressure hose testing.
• Operation of hose assembly machinery.
• Mechanical technical knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshooting of hose and fitting issues.
