Logistics, Fleet & Plant Supervisor – Construction Project

About the role

The Logistics, Fleet and Plant Supervisor is responsible for wet‑hire fleet utilisation, maintenance, fuel management, transport scheduling and quarry/aggregate haulage on a major resources construction project in Papua New Guinea. The role ensures the large imported fleet is turned into revenue through effective utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule personnel, material transport and light‑vehicle hire to meet daily and weekly site demand.
• Drive fleet utilisation, produce weekly reports and minimise idle plant.
• Own preventive maintenance and servicing schedules, maintain the plant register and monitor unit availability.
• Manage fuel supply, storage, dispensing, reconciliation and keep fuel loss within tolerance.
• Schedule quarry and aggregate haulage, handling load counts and delivery dockets.
• Oversee licensing, registration, roadworthiness and driver competency for the entire fleet.
• Coordinate inbound landed plant, spares and consumables with offshore procurement, inspecting receipts on arrival.
• Enforce journey management, speed and fatigue controls and investigate every vehicle incident.

Required profile

• Eight years or more supervising fleet, plant or logistics on construction or resource projects.
• Experience managing a mixed fleet of 20 + units, including heavy plant.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and plant availability reporting.
• Proven fuel management and reconciliation experience.
• Trade qualification (heavy diesel fitter) or a logistics/fleet management qualification.
