Logistics & Reporting Specialist – Agricultural Drought

About the role

The Agricultural Drought Logistics and Reporting Specialist will coordinate the operational delivery of APEP‑supported El Niño activities across Papua New Guinea. Based in Port Moresby, the role involves organising workshops, training, field missions and managing the movement of equipment and supplies to remote provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain implementation schedules, logistics plans and activity trackers for workshops, assessments and stakeholder engagements.
• Coordinate travel, accommodation, transport, venues and equipment for field teams and ensure timely distribution of drought‑mitigation technologies.
• Support procurement processes, manage inventory records and oversee the hand‑over of approved supplies.
• Act as the operational focal point for government agencies, provincial authorities, partners and service providers, maintaining action registers and communications.
• Prepare regular progress updates, operational reports and concise event and mission summaries.

Required profile

• A degree or recognised tertiary qualification in logistics, supply‑chain management, project management, business administration, public administration, international development or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience in logistics, project operations, event management or field coordination, preferably in Papua New Guinea.
• Demonstrated ability to organise travel, workshops and field activities in remote locations and to work effectively with government and community stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English and Tok Pisin, with willingness to travel frequently to remote sites.
