Management Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join Spectra Industrial Limited’s finance team in Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of core accounting functions and provide insight into the performance of our industrial equipment business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and variance analysis.
• Own inventory costing and margin reporting across generators, forklifts, construction machinery and hire fleet.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory records against the general ledger and coordinate periodic stock takes.
• Manage the fixed‑asset register – additions, disposals, depreciation schedules and physical verification.
• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Handle GST reconciliations and ensure compliance with statutory tax obligations.
• Liaise with Sales, Operations and Procurement to support financial reporting and resolve queries.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in an accounting role within a commercial or industrial environment.
• Strong accounting and finance knowledge, including preparation and review of financial statements and accrual management.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Well‑developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Effective communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with non‑financial stakeholders.
