Planner – Material Coordinator for Construction Projects

About the role

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking a Planner – Material Coordinator to join the Community Projects team within the Capital and Projects Department. Reporting to the Superintendent – Community Projects, you will align construction schedules with material supply chains, ensure timely availability of materials and equipment, and maintain accurate documentation to minimise delays and optimise workflow efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage project material schedules aligned with construction timelines.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders and manage storage logistics.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability or delays.
• Collaborate with project managers to align planning with on‑site needs.
• Maintain accurate records of material usage, deliveries and costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in material handling.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental awareness in line with NPL policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning or material coordination within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, procurement and supply‑chain logistics.
• Proficiency with project management and inventory software (e.g., MS Project, Excel, SAP).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise under pressure.
• Relevant qualifications in construction management, logistics or engineering are desirable.
