Project Manager – Construction Projects (Port Moresby)

About the role

PlanPac is seeking experienced Project Managers to lead the delivery of construction projects in Papua New Guinea. You will oversee each project from the pre‑contract stage through to handover, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across planning, design and delivery phases.
• Control project budgets, timelines, resources and cost tracking.
• Prepare and monitor project programs, schedules and progress against deliverables.
• Act as primary contact for clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
• Provide regular updates to the General Manager on progress, risks and changes.
• Ensure delivery aligns with PlanPac’s Integrated Business Management System (IBMS) and all compliance requirements.
• Participate in business development and support identification of new project opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex construction or development projects from inception to completion.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• High‑level financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
• Understanding of contract administration and compliance processes.
• Ability to work in dynamic environments with competing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or Total Synergy.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
• In‑depth knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality assurance standards.
