Project Specialist – NPSA 10 (Mount Hagen)

About the role

The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is seeking a Project Specialist to support the implementation of the NPSA 10 initiative in Mount Hagen, Papua New Guinea. The role contributes to UNCDF’s mission of mobilising capital for sustainable development and aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, execution and monitoring of the NPSA 10 project activities in Mount Hagen.
• Provide technical and financial advisory services to project partners and stakeholders.
• Support the design of financial structuring solutions and contribute to investment derisking efforts.
• Help enhance the investment readiness of SDG‑aligned projects through capacity‑building and coordination with private sector and development finance institutions.
• Ensure compliance with UNCDF’s tiered application and staffing policies.

Required profile

• Eligibility to apply under the UNCDF tiered recruitment process.
• Experience in project implementation within development or finance contexts.
• Understanding of UN systems, development financing mechanisms and partnership models.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
