QMS Specialist – Catering (Wewak)

About the role

The QMS Specialist – Catering Wewak is a full-time, on-site role based in Wewak, responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality management systems within catering operations. This role involves implementing and monitoring food safety and hygiene standards, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene standards across catering operations.
• Conduct regular internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
• Develop, update, and maintain catering procedures and quality documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to catering staff on quality and safety practices.
• Review documentation, analyze quality‑related data and resolve non‑conformances.
• Collaborate with catering and site management to enhance service delivery.
• Manage customer feedback to ensure catering services meet client expectations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated skills in food service and catering with ability to apply quality standards.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for managing client expectations.
• Practical cooking experience and understanding of kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Experience conducting audits, preparing reports and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to work on‑site in Wewak, manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Relevant qualification in hospitality, food science or quality management (preferred).
• Experience in Papua New Guinea or similar environments is an advantage.
