Senior Program Coordinator – Western Province Partnership

About the role

The Senior Program Coordinator will provide central coordination and support for the Western Province Partnership (WPP), a component of the Australia‑Papua New Guinea Subnational Program. Based in Port Moresby, the role ensures effective, gender‑centred delivery of development activities across the Western Province and contributes to broader APSP outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate programme activities across the Western Province, ensuring alignment with APSP objectives and DFAT priorities.
• Support the implementation of gender‑centred initiatives, monitoring progress and reporting on outcomes.
• Facilitate technical assistance to provincial and district institutions, promoting policy reforms and service delivery improvements.
• Manage rapid programming of resources, responding to emerging needs and security considerations.
• Produce analysis, learning and adaptation reports to inform continuous improvement across APSP components.
• Liaise with Australian and PNG stakeholders, including DFAT, provincial authorities and community groups, to maintain strong partnerships.

Required profile

• PNG citizenship (mandatory).
• Significant experience in coordinating development programmes or similar initiatives.
• Demonstrated understanding of gender‑equality principles and sub‑national governance.
• Proven ability to work with multiple government and community stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
