Site Supervisor – National Labour

About the role

Laba Holdings Limited is seeking a Site Supervisor to manage the national labour cohort on a major resources construction project in Papua New Guinea. The role covers day and back‑shift supervision for a 24‑month fixed‑term contract, converting the man‑ning schedule into safe, quality‑driven work that meets head‑contractor standards.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate and supervise trades and general labour against the daily work plan issued by the Project Manager.
• Conduct pre‑start briefings, take‑five checks and job hazard analyses for every task on shift.
• Verify attendance, timesheets and dockets on site to ensure accurate measurement records.
• Maintain productivity and quality to head‑contractor work‑pack standards, rejecting non‑conforming work.
• Identify skill gaps and refer workers to the M5 workforce development programme.
• Enforce PPE and permit‑to‑work requirements, stopping unsafe tasks.
• Manage first‑line discipline and grievances, escalating formal actions to M5 as needed.
• Provide written hand‑over reports between shifts.

Required profile

• Six or more years supervising construction or industrial labour, including at least two crews of 50+ workers.
• Trade qualification or supervisory qualification in construction.
• Proven experience with pre‑start, take‑five and job hazard analysis processes.
• Fluent in Tok Pisin and English.
• Willingness to work a rostered shift pattern, including back‑shift.
• Desirable: prior work on an LNG or major resource construction site in PNG.
• Desirable: frontline leadership or Certificate IV level supervisory training.
