Specialist – Sourcing (Procurement)

About the role

New Porgera Limited is seeking a detail‑oriented Specialist – Sourcing to join its Procurement & Supply Chain team in Lae. Reporting to the Superintendent – Contracts, the role will drive sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships and ensure value‑adding contracts for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end sourcing and contract lifecycle, including development of scopes, tender documentation and competitive bidding.
• Lead supplier negotiations, draft contracts, monitor performance and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Analyse proposals, pricing and financial data to assess price reasonableness and conduct contract price reviews.
• Maintain a network of potential suppliers, consolidate the supplier base and support purchasing, inventory and logistics teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in mining, oil or gas.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management and contract lifecycle expertise.
• Ability to travel monthly to Porgera Mine Site and comply with health‑safety policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP procurement modules.
• Advanced use of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Experience drafting scopes of work, evaluation justifications and contract documents.
• Familiarity with procurement legislation, policies and procedures.
