Supervisor – Crusher & SAG Mills

About the role

The Supervisor – Crusher & SAG Mills reports to the Foreman – Concentrator & Autoclaves and is responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintenance of crushing and SAG mill equipment at the Porgera Gold Mine. This onsite FIFO position ensures optimal production while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities in the Crusher and SAG Mill areas.
• Monitor equipment performance, process parameters, and production targets to achieve efficiency.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures for safe and consistent production.
• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance with the maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and arrange prompt repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Uphold high health, safety and environmental awareness in line with NPL policies.

Required profile

• Trades Certificate in Fitting & Machining from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in the extractive or resource industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of crushing and grinding processes, equipment and maintenance practices.
• Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Good computer literacy with experience using integrated management systems.
