Supervisor – Waste Management (Mining)

About the role

The Supervisor – Waste Management will lead all waste handling activities across the Porgera mine and camp operations. Reporting to the Forman – Maintenance Site Services, you will ensure that waste processes are safe, efficient and fully compliant with NPL’s environmental and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate waste segregation, storage, transportation and disposal across the site.
• Plan, allocate and monitor resources, equipment and work schedules to meet operational targets.
• Provide leadership to employees and contractors, ensuring tasks follow approved procedures.
• Conduct shift‑by‑shift safety, environmental and operational briefings.
• Perform workplace inspections and monitor work practices for compliance.
• Track waste management performance, identify improvement opportunities and maintain accurate records.
• Support environmental initiatives and promote sustainable waste practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in waste management operations, preferably in a mining or remote‑site environment.
• Proven experience supervising teams and contractors.
• Strong understanding of waste segregation, collection, transportation, storage and disposal.
