Technician - Auto Electrical (Automation)

About the role

This position is responsible for carrying out electrical breakdown and preventative maintenance repairs on a wide range of mobile equipment including light vehicles, boggers, truck fleets, excavators, drills, dozers, graders and support equipment. The role involves performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on a large fleet of underground mining equipment, including Sandvik drills, trucks and loaders, as well as CAT and Normet equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on a large fleet of underground mining equipment, including Sandvik drills, trucks, loaders and ancillary CAT and Normet equipment.
• Conduct regular electrical tests and tagging on equipment and machines.
• Direct and train subordinates to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and machines.
• Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.

Required profile

• NATTB certified trade certificate in auto‑electrical.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in heavy industry, preferably mining.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining electrical equipment in a mobile fleet (drills, trucks, loaders, light vehicles, dozers, excavators, graders).
• Experience with automotive air‑conditioning systems.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong safety focus and knowledge of standard operating procedures.
