About the role
World Vision is seeking a Community Facilitator to work at village level in Arawa. You will help vulnerable children and families by mobilising communities, delivering training, and ensuring inclusive, safe participation in project activities.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and facilitate village meetings, focus groups and participatory planning sessions.
- Build trusted relationships with community leaders, women’s groups, youth, people with disabilities and other local structures.
- Raise community awareness on project goals, accountability mechanisms and safeguarding policies.
- Deliver or co‑facilitate trainings on financial literacy, savings groups, inclusive livelihoods, gender inclusion, nutrition and household practices.
- Coach and supervise community volunteers and lead facilitators to sustain learning cycles.
- Implement gender, disability and child safeguarding mainstreaming across all activities.
- Maintain feedback, complaints and response mechanisms at the community level.
- Coordinate with local government, church networks and civil‑society actors to align efforts and avoid duplication.
- Collect attendance, activity and outcome data, including sex‑ and disability‑disaggregated information.
- Prepare weekly/monthly field reports, success stories and case studies for adaptive management.
- Plan field schedules, manage session materials and coordinate transport, adhering to organisational policies.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification (certificate, diploma or degree) in Community Development, Social Work, Public Health or a related field.
- Experience working in community mobilisation, facilitation or similar roles, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, including women, youth and persons with disabilities.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding, anti‑fraud and data protection standards.
