Project Officer (Disaster Response) – 2 Positions

About the role

The Project Officer will support disaster risk reduction, emergency response and community mobilisation activities across Papua New Guinea. You will work closely with partners, provincial authorities and internal teams to ensure effective planning and implementation of interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop weekly response intervention plans, document updates and facilitate partner engagement.
• Coordinate NFI procurement, storage, and reporting of DRR and response activities.
• Represent World Vision in provincial disaster management meetings and cluster sessions.
• Link World Vision with NGOs, churches and civil‑society groups to strengthen coordination.

Required profile

• Diploma or university degree in social science or a related field.
• Minimum one year of experience in an international NGO, preferably in disaster risk reduction, emergency response or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Do No Harm principles, SPHERE standards and community mobilisation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in Tok Pisin is preferred.
