Data Analyst – APSP Management Information System

About the role

The APSP Data Analyst will support the implementation, administration, and sustained use of the Australia‑PNG Subnational Program’s new Management Information System (MIS) and related reporting tools. Reporting to the Performance and Learning Lead, the role ensures data accuracy, completeness and accessibility for decision‑making across the program.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain and routinely update the new MIS, registers, trackers, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Coordinate data migration, upload, cleaning, validation and routine updates from program components, partners and surveys.
• Develop, maintain and improve MIS‑generated reports, dashboards and Excel‑based reporting tools.
• Provide user support, guidance and practical assistance to ensure consistent use of the MIS.
• Ensure performance and operational data are accurate, complete, secure, audit‑ready and accessible.
• Collaborate with MERLA colleagues, program teams, operations staff and partners on data workflows.
• Monitor data quality and implement quality‑assurance processes aligned with governance requirements.

Required profile

• Open to PNG citizens for a long‑term role based in Port Moresby.
• Experience with data management, migration and validation in a program‑oriented environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and provide user support.
