First Nations Engagement and Partnership Adviser

About the role

The First Nations Engagement and Partnership Adviser will assess and strengthen DT Global’s engagement with Australian First Nations businesses and organisations within the Australia‑PNG Law and Justice (APLJ) programme. The role supports the Australia‑PNG Development Partnership Plan by identifying procurement and partnership opportunities that enhance First Nations participation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a targeted assessment of current First Nations engagement across procurement, programming and partnership activities.
• Review procurement data, supplier information and program documentation to establish a baseline of participation and identify barriers.
• Develop a prioritized pipeline of actionable procurement and partnership opportunities, matching First Nations entities to APLJ needs.
• Recommend practical changes to procurement, market engagement and partnership practices.
• Identify and facilitate twinning or knowledge‑exchange opportunities between Australian First Nations communities and PNG partners.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law and Justice, International Development or a related field.
• In‑depth knowledge of First Nations engagement and culturally appropriate approaches.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement, supply‑chain or program reviews.
• Experience working with government, NGOs, CSOs and First Nations organisations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
