Float Plane Pilot – PNG Mission Aviation

About the role

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is seeking an experienced Float Plane Pilot to operate in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea. You will fly to remote villages, delivering medical evacuations, supplies, and support to isolated communities while partnering with local organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and conduct safe float‑plane flights in accordance with aviation regulations.
• Perform thorough pre‑flight and post‑flight inspections and document aircraft condition.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues through proactive troubleshooting.
• Record flight data, fuel consumption and weather information for each mission.
• Provide courteous and secure in‑flight service to passengers and cargo.
• Navigate accurately to remote airstrips using available navigation tools.

Required profile

• Valid pilot licence for float‑plane operations and current medical certification.
• Demonstrated experience flying in remote, challenging environments.
• Commitment to MAF’s Christian mission and to serving isolated communities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small, dynamic crew.
